When you sign up for online donations through our secure online donation site, make a donation via mail, attend a Franciscan Works fundraiser, sign up for our e-newsletters, or apply to be a volunteer or staff member, we will collect specific personal information about you. The personal information we collect may include, but is not limited to, your name, postal address, zip code, telephone numbers, organization name, email address, credit card, bank information or billing information. We also keep a record of contact notes in our database.

Franciscan Works cares deeply about the welfare of children including their privacy. We ask all children under 13 to not utilize any of our services or provide contact information. For teenagers between the age of 13 and 18, you must have a parent’s or guardian’s permission to share any private information including phone numbers, your address, name, or email. If we discover any contact is between the age of 13 and 18 and shared information without a parent’s permission, we will delete all records associated with that account immediately. Franciscan Works keeps personal information in a secure, online donor database and in our secure email server. All online transactions are done on a secure server. This means that information entered on the transaction page is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) before transmission. On secure pages, a green lock symbol is displayed next to the website address in the address bar at the top of the browser screen and the url starts with an "https" instead of an "http". Donation pages are verified by Denari and transactions are processed using a Denari merchant account.

Personal information will be shared internally to our staff and the Board of Directors of Franciscan Works to complete your donations, to contact you about our on-going work, discuss employment opportunities and ways that you can further support us. Your personal information will also be used to provide you access to our sponsor portal on our website. Franciscan Works does not share, rent or exchange donor names, postal address, email address, phone number or financial information with any third parties.

Sponsors: If you are a student sponsor, your name will be shared with your beneficiary. No other identifying information will be transferred to students.

Exception:

Credit Card Transactions, Electronic Fund Transfers, Payments by Check or Money Order and Online Financial Transactions. If you choose to make a donation online, by phone, through the mail or by other means, we will share your personal information with our processing service providers: Paypal, Stripe, and Denari. Once these service providers receive the initial request for billing with payment information, that information is secured on their server and is not transmitted over the internet again. We at Franciscan Works cannot access your credit card information once entered initially into the system for recurring payment. Any mailed forms of payment including credit cards and checks are shredded. Any hard copies are kept in a triple secured location. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

Retention

Your personal data is retained no longer than is reasonably necessary to provide our services or required by law.   

A "cookie" is a piece of data sent to your browser from Franciscan Work’s website provider’s server and is stored on your computer's hard drive.

Depending on your use of our website and email campaigns, information collected may include:

• Internet Protocol Address (IP address).

• Information about your device (computer, phone or tablet), and the browser and operating system used.

• Your approximate geographic location.

• The dates, times, duration and frequency of your interactions with our website and emails.

Information Not Obtained Directly From You

Franciscan Works uses first-party cookies through Google Analytics.
